Important Considerations

SPF/DKIM Issues

Forwarded emails may fail authentication:

  • Use SRS (Sender Rewriting Scheme) when available
  • Inform recipients about forwarding
  • Consider using IMAP access instead

Loops

Avoid creating forwarding loops:

  • A → B → A (infinite loop!)
  • Our system detects and stops loops

Privacy

  • Forwarded emails reveal the forwarding address
  • Use BCC for sensitive distributions

Tips

  • Test forwarding after setup
  • Monitor for delivery issues
  • Update forwarding when email addresses change
  • Use filters for conditional forwarding
